Audi AG

Audi AG at IAA


  • Introduction of the all new A2, the series car based on the AL2 concept. The A2 comes with a 75 PS turbo-diesel (VW engine) and a 1.4 l petrol (VW engine)
  • Introduced as well: the RS4 bi-turbo with a V6 400 hp.



  • BMW is presenting its Z8 Roadster, equiped with a 5l V8 engine 400 hp (world premiere)
  • Introduction of the BMW Z9, a concept for the new 8 series
  • The X5 is now near to production readiness. This Sports Activity Vehicle will be produced in Spartanburg/South Carolina.
  • 3-series Touring (world premiere)
  • 330d (world premiere)

  • The Neon is facelifted and will be shown
  • The well known PT Cruiser (PT=Personal Transportation) comes across and
  • the study of a Jeep Commander driven by a fuel cell will be presented (German premieres)



Citroen at IAA

  • Citroen Picasso newly presented, a  compact van based on the XSARA and equiped with a 1.8 petrol and a HDI diesel engine.
  • Saxo: facelift

  • C3 and C6 Lignage: prototypes (German premieres)


  • Daewoo is going to present the TACUMA, the MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle), prototype (world premiere) is to be built with 5 or 7 seats.

  • Design study DMS-1 for an all-terrain vehicle
  • MOVE: new version of tall microvan, 2 model variants, available with air conditioning

  • Fiat is getting an all new Punto to the show, equiped with  1,2 to 1.8 liter petrol engines as well as a 1.9 diesel.

  • Omega: new generation, saloon and estate (world premieres). More than one third of all components were newly developed or completely reworked. Interior with "soft touch" surfaces.
  • Omega Multimedia concept car showing the future of mobile communications, incorporating a night-time vision system and an on-board personal computer with Internet access.
  • Astra Coupé: based on Astra, turbocharged engine developing up to 190 bhp Speedster developed jointly with Lotus; 800 kg, mid-engine concept, aluminium chassis, 2-seater.

  • The new 607 (world premiere), with a 3l V6 engine 210 hp as well s with a 2.2l HDI turbo-diesel 136 hp. 4-door notchback saloon.

  • The Boxster S.: 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, 3.2 l, 252 bhp (185 kW)

  • Facelifted Ibiza, León (world premiere): Engine line-up includes the most powerful engine Seat has ever offered, a 180 bhp 1.8 litre 20-valve turbocharged powerplant.

Skoda at IAA

  • Skoda is presenting the all new Fabia, the successor of the Felicia and the first car entirely developed by Skoda. Based on the A0/A00 platform. New compact car positioned between the Felicia and Octavia model ranges, engine capacity from 1.4 litres.


  • Jimny Cabrio (German premiere): Small open-topped all-terrain vehicle with selectable four-wheel drive.



Toyota at IAA

  • The Yaris Verso, Minivan based on the compact Yaris model. To be built in France
  • RX 300, Toyota's landcruiser
  • Celica, completely reworked. Sports coupé (2+2-seater), 1.8 l, 143 bhp (105 kW)
  • Prius: European version of the world’s first hybrid vehicle (featuring both petrol and electric drives)
  • MR2: completely reworked, midship engine, detachable hard top



Volkswagen at IAA    Bugatti at IAA


  • Highlight will be the presentation of the Volkswagen D1, the high end car to be produced in the transparent factory in Dresden.
  • Bugatti will  show the EB 18/3 Chiron study, also publihed as a convertible
  • Overview of Volkswagen's innovations, stated at the IAA.
  • Polo: extensively revamped (world premiere). Engine range comprises eight variants with output ranging from 60 bhp (44 kW) to 129 bhp (92 kW). A three-cylinder TDI version (pump-injector) with 1.4 litre displacement and 75 bhp (55 kW) is new.
  • Lupo GTI (world premiere): 1.6 l engine with 92 kW (125 bhp)
  • Golf/Bora/Passat; new engines, including a 1.9 l TDI (pump-injector) with 150 bhp (110 kW). Direct injection engine (study).
