Randall Tallerico Named Buick Advertising Director

Randall Tallerico has been named director of advertising and sales promotion at Buick effective immediately. He joins Buick from Oldsmobile where he had been advertising director since Oct. 2000. (August 8, 2001)

Christopher J. Hamer Named OnStar Director Of Marketing Communications

Christopher Hamer has been named director of marketing communications for OnStar, OnStar President Chet Huber announced today. In his new role, effective today, Hamer will be responsible for OnStar's web strategy, advertising, promotions, and subscriber management activities.  Hamer replaces Christopher Robinson, who is now director of diversity marketing and sales, African-American consumer marketing, for General Motors. BMW of North America Names Rob Mitchell To Head Corporate Communications Department

BMW of North America, LLC announced that it has named Rob Mitchell as Manager, Corporate Communications Department. Mitchell is a twenty-five year veteran at BMW of North America and succeeds Jack Pitney, who was promoted to General Manager in charge of the new MINI brand. (July 4, 2001)

Award presentation at the 48th Advertising Festival in Cannes: Audi multitronic commercial "The Fan" wins Silver Lion

The Audi commercial "The Fan" was also The King with creative and marketing experts at this year's "48th Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2001" in Cannes: at the weekend the jury awarded the Silver Lion in the category "Cars" to the commercial for the continuously variable automatic transmission "Audi multitronic". The commercial was devised by the Frankfurt advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi. (June 27, 2001)

Ford Motor Company's Premier Automotive Group Named Official Brand Partner of Pebble Beach Resorts

Solidifying its association with one of the world’s most prestigious locales, Premier Automotive Group, an enterprise of Ford Motor Company, has signed a multi-year brand partnership with Pebble Beach Company, including the famed Pebble Beach Resorts and Pebble Beach Golf Links. (June 13, 2001)

Chrysler Group Names New Marketing Partners

Chrysler Group has named two new strategic partners to its marketing and advertising team.  Fusion 5 and the Arnell Group, both consultants in brand marketing, will work closely with PentaMark, Chrysler's lead advertising and marketing agency to help develop new business opportunities for the Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge brands. Toyota Addresses Misinformation Regarding Advertising Controversy

Toyota Motor Sales (TMS) USA, Inc. issued the following background regarding rumors and misinformation surrounding controversy about certain advertising, as well as the company's diversity policies in general.

This issue pertains to a promotional postcard available for free in racks located in nightspots, fitness centers, coffee houses and other locations frequented by the young and style-conscious. (May 30, 2001)

GM Forms Diversity Marketing And Sales Organization

General Motors announced the formation of a diversity marketing and sales organization to focus on the women's market and the growing markets for African-American, Hispanic-American, and Asian-American consumers. The new Center of Expertise on Diversity is designed to enhance cross-divisional planning and execution, capitalize on the company's scale and share of voice, increase GM's understanding of multi-cultural consumers, support and leverage local dealer efforts, and serve as a resource within the corporation to coordinate and communicate learnings. Internet Film Series Debuts On BMWFILMS.COM

An unprecedented Internet film series featuring an A-list roster of Hollywood heavyweights is set to debut on bmwfilms.com on April 26th.
